Partial Obstructions

Is there anyone else out there that struggles with a history of numerous partial bowel obstructions?  I am 6 years post op.  I've had none stop complications from day one.  I've had so many abdominal surgeries and am trying to avoid anymore, but I'm almost to that point where enough is enough!  Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Stephanie,

I don't know why it is but some of us just get the luck of the draw. I too, have had many complications. I've even had Mayo tell me how fortunate I am to be here (ie..alive). I know I have at least one more abdominal surgery in my very near future. Of course I get jealous of those who get through their journies without a care in the world. And yes, I have had my moments of looking toward heaven and asking 'why me God'.  I haven't come up with a whole lot reasons to answer that question except maybe God wants others to learn through my example of how to cope with issues. Rather if it's that or something else, I'm sure he has good reasons though. I just have to trust that.

I am so sorry you are having these problems. I don't have any insight. Just wanted you to know you are in my prayers and heart. Wendy

I had an obstruction that led to a perforation.  Everything was going great and then bam!  It was ugly and I did receive last rites at some point during my hospital stay and it took a long time for me to recover.  I am still going through some changes from my problem in December.  Then I developed an ulcer that sent me into a vomiting spiral that I thought would never end and another hospital stay.  What with the PICC line and TPN stuff and the inability to eat anything.  It was overwhelming.  I still cannot eat the way I should.  I just simply don't have the room or the ability to eat or get in all of my vitamins/supplements.

All we can do is what we can do, at the end of the day you just have to try and focus on being positive.  Good luck and try not to let it get you down.

Steph,

I wish there was a magic button that I could push for you so that all this would be over for you. You've diffently have had your share of B.S. from trying to correct your obesity problem and you certainly shouldn't have to suffer like you have been. My heart truely goes out to you and you know that (I Hope). I don't think you've gotten to enjoy any long term success with your surgery and I'm sure that has changed your dispusition about your choice greatly. Some where there's got to be a stopping point for you. A place in tmes future where you finally get to enjoy life a little better then what you have been.

Love Ya!

Blessings
